I met Joy in the 1990s when my parents moved to Fairlight. She helped care for my father when he became infirm and became a good friend to us all. Never has anyone been named more appropriately. She gave Joy through her charismatic personality full of fun and laughter. Everyone who met her was richer for the experience. Joy knew how to truly live to the full. It was like she was brimming over with love for the world and she dedicated herself to giving love through caring for others, through her singing and her talent as an artist. A very unique and wonderful person. I shall remember her racing through the lanes of Fairlight in her classic Morris car, sun hat on scarf billowing out behind her. Just perfect.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
